A consortium of U.S. firms is planning to build a large tuna farm to raise the fish mainly for export to Japan. The U.S. Department of Commerce is preparing a bill to support the construction of the farm as it apparently believes that tuna exports to Japan would help reduce U.S. trade deficits with Japan.
